The Community and Business Resilience Initiative (CBRI) is focused on creating conditions for workforce, business, and industry growth in the 21-county ACT Now region through community coaching and planning, site development, and business development services. CBRI will utilize $9.3 million in federal and private sector funds to provide long-term community resilience planning for 16 communities across southern West Virginia through Hub community coaching services, BAD Buildings (brownfields, abandoned and dilapidated) services through the Brownfields Assistance Centers, and small business and entrepreneurial development services for hundreds of businesses across 21 counties through the WV Hive and Advantage Valley.
As part of the ACT Now Coalition CBRI project, the WV Hive will provide our signature services with a focus on preparing businesses for shifts in the energy sector, including implementation of green and resilient business strategies.
We want to support our clients as they prioritize a triple bottom line: planet, people, and profit. Green and resilient business training is in development to help businesses meet this growing need.
The WV Hive is partnering with AFV Educate to develop green and resilient business curricula to be delivered alongside our signature entrepreneurial support. WV Hive and Advantage Valley will facilitate the training and information to:

As a partner in the ACT Now Coalition’s CBRI project, the WV Hive will provide our signature services within Raleigh, Fayette, Nicholas, Summers, Webster, Pocahontas, Greenbrier, Monroe, Mercer, Wyoming, McDowell, Logan and Mingo Counties, with a focus on preparing businesses for shifts in the energy sector, including implementation of green and resilient business strategies. As part of this work, the WV Hive will also provide concentrated support to Accelerate WV communities in our service area, including Gilbert, Hinton, Logan, Kermit, Kimball, Princeton, Ronceverte, Summersville, Webster County, and Williamson.
