Do You Have A Unique Or Innovative Business Idea Or Product?
The WV Hive Network is excited to announce the Fall 2024 installment of its Pitch Southern West Virginia Business Idea Competition! The upcoming competition, to be held at WVU Tech in Beckley, WV, is open to residents and businesses located in Raleigh, Fayette, Nicholas, Summers, Webster, Pocahontas, Greenbrier, Monroe, Mercer, Wyoming, McDowell, Logan and Mingo Counties and also to WVU Tech students.
Please note: ONLY those with new business ideas or business start-ups less than three years in operation are eligible to apply. Winners from the two most recent PSWV events are ineligible.
Applications will be evaluated by a team of reviewers and finalists will be chosen to pitch their ideas in-person at WVU Tech in Beckley, WV on November 14, 2024 beginning at 5:30pm.
During the in-person competition, you will have five minutes to present your idea to a panel of judges and explain why it is innovative and how it will make a difference to southern WV. Your presentation will be followed by a brief question and answer period with the judges.
Prizes:
1st Place: $2,500
2nd Place: $1,000
The remaining three finalists will be awarded $500 each for Honorable Mention.
In additiona, the finalist receiving the most votes from the audience in attendance will receive $250 as the “Audience Favorite.”
Prize money must be used to further the business idea.
Finalists and alternates will be notified by email on October 25, 2024 and will be provided additional competition details and coaching opportunities.
