Access to funding is a fundamental component to the entrepreneurial experience. At the Hive, we know businesses in our service area struggle to connect to the critical resources for funding and therefore have dedicated ourselves to building a bridge to help overcome this barrier. Regardless of your capital needs, your Hive business advisor can help you choose your best opportunity.
Working with our parent organization, the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority (NRGRDA), we have formed Country Roads Angel Network (CRAN)! The first of its kind in southern West Virginia, CRAN serves all 55 counties in West Virginia and is comprised of accredited investors from the Mountain State and beyond.
CRAN is a group of accredited investors with a mission to support entrepreneurs in the Mountain State. This critical source of capital aims to help close the funding gap for West Virginia entrepreneurs as they look to grow and cultivate their businesses here at home.
Through entrepreneurship support services offered at the Hive, entrepreneurs from our 12-county service area* will have a pathway to critical early stage funding. These high growth businesses from our region will help to fill the statewide pipeline of entrepreneurs looking to establish and grow their companies in West Virginia. For more information on Country Roads Angel Network visit https://www.wvcran.com.
*Entrepreneurs outside of the Hive service area but located within West Virginia are also eligible for CRAN services.
The Hive has long supported entrepreneurs in the start-up, incubation stage by providing technical assistance (TA) funding. Though this funding is limited, the Hive maintains a close collaboration with funding agents to provide access to funding to help our entrepreneurs hurdle specific barriers. To be considered for TA funds, an entrepreneur must be from our 13-county service area and a Hive client. If you are not a Hive client and are looking for additional support funds, click the Apply Now button below. If you are a Hive client, simply talk with your Hive business advisor about your interest in TA funds.
